Protected delivery controls how a verified buyer accesses a file and whether the app offers saving or sharing. It can reduce casual redistribution, but no app can guarantee that content will never be copied, photographed or recorded.
Begin with purchase-based access
A public product page explains what is for sale. The purchased files are separate from that page. In Createpie, a verified purchase gives the buyer library access, and the access email provides the Createpie username and password for app sign-in. A shared storefront link is not a link to the protected file.
Make this delivery model explicit before checkout. Someone buying an in-app reading guide should not discover afterward that they expected an editable file in another program. A clear promise about access is part of the product, not just a support detail.
Choose in-app access or downloads for the task
Reading and playback products can stay in supported app viewers when downloads are disabled. Sellers can choose to allow saving and sharing where the file type supports it. ZIP bundles download by default because their contents usually need to be unpacked or edited elsewhere.
A protected PDF can be presented without print or export buttons in the app. That is useful for a reference guide intended for in-app reading. A printable worksheet has a different promise: if the buyer needs to print it, choose an appropriate delivery permission and say that printing is intended. Downloaded files are outside the app’s access controls.
Describe capture safeguards accurately
The buyer app applies screenshot and screen-recording safeguards where the device and operating system support them. Behavior can differ between Android and iOS, operating-system versions and capture methods. A separate camera can still photograph a screen.
Do not describe a product as impossible to screenshot or piracy-proof. App controls do not make every text selection uncopyable, and a file that can be downloaded can be redistributed. Say what the intended viewing and download permissions are, while being honest about those limits.
Write access instructions buyers can follow
Use a short delivery note: “After your payment is confirmed, look for the access email. Install the Createpie app for Android or iOS, sign in with the Createpie username and password from that email, and open your library.” Add any product-specific requirements, such as headphones or a particular editing tool.
When someone cannot find a purchase, first confirm the purchase email and payment status. Ask them to check spam and use the current sign-in or recovery flow. Never ask a buyer to post their password or private access link in a public support thread.
- The Createpie username and password from the access email are used to sign in
- Payment is confirmed, not merely returned from checkout
- The access email and spam folder have been checked
- The current app and its sign-in flow are being used
Pair access controls with a clear usage policy
Explain whether the purchase is for personal use, a client project or a wider team. Keep the license easy to find on the product page and inside the package. Delivery controls and a license serve different purposes: one shapes access, the other tells the buyer what use you permit.
Review the experience on the platforms your buyers use. Check readability, file opening, saving permissions and recovery instructions. Choose the minimum restrictions that still let an honest buyer do the task they paid for.
Common questions
Does protected delivery stop every screenshot or screen recording?
No. Capture safeguards depend on the device, operating system and capture method. They can reduce casual capture on supported devices, but cannot prevent every form of copying or a separate camera photographing the screen.
Can I sell a PDF without an export button?
A protected PDF can stay in the supported app viewer without print or export buttons when downloads are disabled. Choose download permissions to match the product’s intended use, and explain them before purchase.
Are ZIP files protected from being downloaded?
ZIP bundles download by default. They are suitable for files buyers need to unpack or edit, so do not promise that a ZIP bundle will remain confined to the app.
